Muskets & Magic Sitari Longbow
The Theocracy's Light Infantry brings a longbow into a musket war. Adapt or get volleyed.
The official bow showcase is short and honest. The Longbow is the weapon Sitari Light Infantry gets. It is powerful. It is not free. Nanoplex’s line is that you must adapt to a gunpowder environment while using a primitive weapon. That is the whole class in one sentence. You are not a Rifleman with a prettier stick. You are an archer on maps that also contain flintlocks, Sklirite, and mages.
If you queued Sitari because the tabard looked medieval, read the Sitari and undead roster first. Light Infantry is the skirmisher slot, not the Lineman with a shield. If you wanted a musket, pick Ignia or Zemliya on the next vote and open Getting Started. This page is for the people who already spawned with a bow on Wickland, Remnants, or a scrambled lore follow-up.
What the longbow is for
Sitari as a faction is melee-first: swords, shields, greatswords, spears, Sklirite plate. The bow exists so the Theocracy is not blind at range. Official copy still calls Sitari Light Infantry a true marksman raised with a bow. Arrows are quiet compared with a volley. They are also slower to dump into a moving Grenadier than a Rifleman’s flintlock at the same distance.
Use the bow to:
- Punish Officers and Flag Bearers who plant on a skyline.
- Soften a doorway before Heavies go through it on Wickland Manor.
- Delete a Mage who thinks the backline is safe. Musket the Magic on the achievements page wants a gun kill on a Mage; as Sitari you are hunting the same target with a different tool.
- Cover a flank the Linemen cannot see.
Do not use the bow to:
- Stand in the main road and trade with a Line Infantry clump. They reload together. You are one person.
- 1v1 a Grenadier in melee. You have a Light Infantry kit, not a Heavy’s greatsword. If they close, you need space or a teammate. See melee combat.
- Hold a Ticket Deathmatch hedge alone. One archer is not a volley.
Gunpowder maps versus manor maps
Open ticket maps (Little Green, Prok’s Glade) usually pit Ignia against Zemliya in lore votes. When a scramble drops Sitari onto those fields, you are the underdog at range. Play trees, windows, and the sides of houses. Let Linemen take the road. Your job is the person who peeks the same corner twice. If you stand on the green, muskets farm you.
Strike at Wickland Manor is Sitari’s home argument: Attack Defense, corridors, stairs, windows. Longbows love vertical angles the musket line hates. Hold a landing, shoot the door, relocate before the volley finds the sill. A Sapper / Engineer platform under you is luxury. Ask for it. The sapper page is their homework; yours is not camping the same window after they have seen the tracer.
Battle of the Remnants (DoD vs Sitari, Deathmatch) is one life and ugly melee. One good arrow on a Necromancer or Brute before they reach the clump is a round. One missed peek is your only life. Play with Heavies, not in front of them.
Cavalry is still a later-update promise from development comments, not a live Sitari tool. Do not wait for a horse. Shoot the people who have muskets today.
Drawbacks you have to respect
The showcase calls out drawbacks on purpose. A bow in a flintlock war loses the reload-and-volley language the other two musket nations speak. You cannot panic-dump six shots into a charge. You pick shots. If a charge is already in the room, drop the hero idea and let Heavies swing. Light Infantry who keep drawing in a doorway are how Sitari loses Wickland.
Smoke from muskets hides your target as much as it hides you. Official guns make noise and cloud. Use that. Shoot the silhouette that steps out of smoke, then move. Remaining in the same pixel after an arrow is how Riflemen take revenge.
Sitari Light Mages and Doctors are not your bodyguards if you wander. Stay in the same building as the colour and the Healer. The Flag Bearer wants a radius of living people, not an archer three courtyards away farming a cosmetic.
Loadout and the rest of the Theocracy
The equipment page lists the Staff of Light, Sklirite, swords, and the longbow as faction tools. You do not mix a Fire Glove onto Light Infantry. Class select hands you the bow. Customisation comments on the showcase asked for helmets without gamepasses; treat cosmetics as appearance, not damage.
If the longbow feels bad on a given map, the class picker still allows Lineman or Knight on Sitari. Switching after one death is allowed. Switching every life teaches nothing. Give the bow two full Attack Defense rounds on Wickland before you call it trash. The showcase is a year older than early access. Numbers move. The job does not: Sitari needs someone who can punish range without a musket, and that someone is you.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Muskets & Magic players.
Which Sitari class uses the longbow?
Light Infantry. Linemen use sword and shield. Heavies use greatswords. Do not expect a bow on Knight.
Can the bow beat a musket line in the open?
Not by standing in it. Play flanks, windows, and Wickland verticals. Open ticket fields belong to Ignia and Zemliya volleys.
Is cavalry in the game for Sitari yet?
Development comments said cavalry would come after a wider release. Early access still fights on foot. Use the longbow and Heavies you have.
Where should I go after this page?
Read Sitari and undead, Battle Maps, and the healer guide so you are not a lone archer.
