Muskets & Magic Guides Hub

First-hour setup, class roles, melee, magic, building, and every early-access map.

Last updated:

Muskets & Magic is Nanoplex Studio’s Napoleonic team shooter on Roblox, currently in early access on PC, mobile, and console (place 17239587155). Matches are online team PvP: four factions, eight classes each, muskets mixed with fire, earth, light, and death magic. This hub is the routing table. Read a page, fight a round, come back when a role or map still feels opaque.

Start with Getting Started if you have not spawned yet. That page covers joining a public server, opening settings, picking Line Infantry, following an Officer or Flag Bearer, reading tickets, earning Crowns, and stacking the Nanoplex Studio group boost. Do not skip settings. Keybinds and touch controls are remappable in the main menu, and a bad default on mobile will feel like the class is broken.

Combat skills to learn next

After you survive a few Ticket Deathmatch rounds, split your practice:

  • Controls — WASD, mouse aim, click to fire, reload, three melee inputs plus perfect block, Mage Ctrl dash, Sapper’s two build inputs, and the quote-key staff console.
  • Melee Combat — stamina, blocking, bayonet versus sword versus axe, Sitari’s melee focus, and why Grenadiers win trades you should not take.
  • How to Play Mage — Fire (Ignia), Earth (Zemliya), Light (Sitari), Death/Necromancer (Descendants of Death). Mana replaces stamina. You have no gun. Play behind the line.
  • Sapper Building — sandbags, stakes, firing platforms, and destruction. Sitari calls this Engineer; Descendants of Death call it Trapper.
  • Flag Bearer — one colour per team, stamina buffs, flag respawns on some maps, and the fastest EXP loop playtesters found.
  • Healer and Surgeon — bandage, area heal, self-heal to full, and why Ticket Deathmatch leaks without a Doctor.
  • Sitari Longbow — Light Infantry bow on gunpowder maps, Wickland windows, and why you do not trade the open green with a musket line.
  • Battle Maps — all five maps, three gamemodes, lore votes versus scramble fights.
  • Early Access Review — who the game is for, what public playtests felt like, and which slots make a round Napoleonic instead of a messy deathmatch.

Those pages plus Getting Started are the full guide tree. Cross-link them while you read. Melee without maps is just a duel; maps without sapper work is just a field. A Sitari tabard without the longbow page is just a Heavy who forgot the archer exists.

How a round is actually won

Muskets & Magic punishes solo hero plays. Line Infantry muskets win when they volley together. Riflemen win when they poke flanks instead of standing in the front rank. Grenadiers win when they spend stamina on committed charges, not empty M1 spam. Officers win when people stand in their range aura and read the white chat. Sappers win when a platform exists before the enemy crest. Healers and Surgeons win when the bandage goes on a Grenadier who is still holding a hedge, not a corpse. Flag Bearers win when the colour is behind cover and still close enough that teammates respawn into the fight. Mages win when fireballs, rocks, beams, or raised dead land on a line that is already shooting.

Ticket Deathmatch starts each team at 100 tickets, one spent per respawn. Deathmatch is one life. Attack Defense is capture points: attackers push, defenders stall the clock. Learn which rule the map uses before you pick a greedy class. A Flag Bearer on a one-life Deathmatch is a rally point, not a spawn printer. A Sapper on Wickland Manor is the difference between a held courtyard and a collapsed door.

Factions in one paragraph

Empire of Ignia fights with fire magic and muskets. Kingdom of Zemliya fights with earth magic and muskets; Earth Mages feel like rock snipers. Theocracy of Sitari is melee and bows with Sklirite armour that shrugs off blades and shot until it does not. Descendants of Death are a guerilla mix of scavenged guns, traps, and necromancy. Class names shift (Sitari Engineer, DoD Trapper, Sitari Doctor, DoD Necromancer) but the eight slots stay the same. Compare them on the class hub and the class tier list once you know what the buttons do.

Crowns, EXP, and what not to farm

Currency is Crowns. EXP and Crowns share the same boost list: grand opening 60% EXP and Crowns, Nanoplex Studio group +25%, weekend +40%, Wednesday +30% UTC, Roblox Premium +15%, plus shop boosters. Join the group before your first public match. No public promo codes are confirmed in early access; the codes page exists so you can recheck after updates instead of guessing Discord rumours. Private servers do not save progress or customisation, so cosmetics and ranks belong on public servers. Use the EXP boosts tool to stack the free layers before you buy a shop booster.

After the guides

When a patch lands, skim updates before you rewrite your muscle memory. Official links, Discord, and the Roblox group sit on the links hub. This wiki is unofficial. Early access numbers move. Treat every damage claim as a playtest note until Nanoplex freezes a patch.

Use this hub as a post-round checklist, not a novel you finish once. If you died reloading in the open, reread Getting Started and Controls. If a Sitari Heavy walked through your bayonet, open Melee Combat. If your fireball traded into a Grenadier and you lost, open the Mage page. If a courtyard had no bags, open Sapper. If your team spawned on the opposite ridge, open Flag Bearer. If you still cannot tell Ticket Deathmatch from a one-life last stand, open Battle Maps. If the bow felt like a worse musket, open Sitari Longbow. If you want a blunt “should I queue” answer, open the review. That loop is how you get value out of early access instead of repeating the same death.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Muskets & Magic players.

Which guide should I read first?

Start with Getting Started, then Controls. After two rounds, pick one skill page: melee, mage, sapper, Healer, Flag Bearer, or Sitari longbow.

Is Muskets & Magic in early access?

Yes. The Roblox title is [EARLY ACCESS] MUSKETS & MAGIC. Nanoplex Studio is still iterating on maps, classes, and balance. Do not treat playtest numbers as frozen.

Do I need a specific class before reading these guides?

No. Line Infantry is the first-hour pick. The other pages assume you can move, shoot, and not empty stamina in a duel. Class comparisons live on the class hub.

Are there working promo codes?

No public codes are confirmed. Stack group, weekend, Wednesday, and Premium boosts instead, and recheck codes after patches.

Where are the maps and gamemodes listed?

All five maps and the three rulesets (Ticket Deathmatch, Deathmatch, Attack Defense) are on the Battle Maps page.
